Mark C. DeLano, MD
Dr. DeLano joined Advanced Radiology after serving for 12 years on the faculty at the Michigan State University Department of Radiology Colleges of Human and Osteopathic Medicine. He remains an Associate Professor of Radiology and has been recruited to help organize the Department of Radiology at the Grand Rapids Campus of the MSU college of Medicine. In this role he will serve to bridge the academic teaching and research missions of the medical school and private radiology in Grand Rapids.
He received both his undergraduate degree and medical degree from MSU. He is a faculty member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He took an internship with Northwestern University's Evanston Hospital and residency at Duke University Medical Center. He completed a two year fellowship in neuroradiology at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions.
Dr. DeLano has over 20 published articles and has presented his work nationally and internationally. He is also very active in professional organizations and has served in many leadership and advisory roles. He is a member of the Society of Skeletal Radiology, International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, the North American Society for Cardiovascular Imaging, the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, and a senior member of the American Society of Neuroradiology. He serves as a reviewer for many of the leading journals in his areas of expertise, and has served on several study sections for the National Institutes of Health and the National Cancer Institutes.
His primary research emphasis is imaging of tumors and stroke, and the optimization of MRI techniques across all organ systems.
Dr. DeLano is certified by the American Board of Radiology, with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Neuroradiology.
