Jay Harolds, MD
Dr. Harolds serves as the Radiology Residency Director for the MSU College of Human Medicine and Medical Student Clerkship Director for Spectrum Health’s Butterworth Hospital.
His distinguished career in medicine includes numerous published works, leadership appointments in healthcare organizations, faculty positions, presentations for major meetings, and extensive clinical experience.
Highlights of the honors recognizing his work include: the Distinguished Service Award from the American Board of Radiology, President’s Award from the American College of Nuclear Physicians, Distinguished Service Award from the Academic Council of the Society of Nuclear Medicine, Selection for the Best Doctors in America from 2007 - 2009, selection for Marquis’ Who’s Who in America/Science and Engineering/and the World, Winner with Dr. Beverly Wood of the AUR/Agfa Management Award, named as one of the “Best Diagnostic Radiologists in Oklahoma” by Oklahoma Magazine, winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Academic Council of the Society of Nuclear Medicine, and the Achievement Award from the Association of Program Directors in Radiology.
Dr. Harolds has over 50 published articles and 40 presentations on many subjects regarding both scientific research and socioeconomic and political issues.
Dr. Harolds has been president of 8 professional organizations. Currently, he is President of the Board of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). The ARRT has about 300,000 registrants. Recent positions he has held include: President of the American College of Nuclear Physicians (ACNP), President of the American College of Nuclear Medicine, President of the Academic Council of the Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM), Member of the House of Delegates of the SNM, Member of the American College of Radiology (ACR) Council Steering Committee, member of the ACR Governance Committee; Government Relations Committee of the ACR; Councilor at Large for the ACR.
Dr. Harolds is a Fellow of the: American College of Radiology, American College of Nuclear Medicine and American College of Nuclear Physicians. His Board Certifications include: National Board of Medical Examiners; American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology; American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology with Special Competence in Nuclear Medicine; and the American Board of Nuclear Medicine.
