Daniel B. Shumaker, MD FACR
Before joining Advanced Radiology Services, Dr. Shumaker was awarded as Faculty Teacher of the Year twice for his work in the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Education Program at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center. In addition to serving as the Director of Body CT/MRI, he was the Subspecialty Teaching Team Director for Body CT/MRI at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center, and a Radiology Clinical Instructor for the University of Michigan Medical School.
Dr. Shumaker received his undergraduate degree from Albion College, and his medical degree from St. George’s University. He completed two years of residency in General Surgery at Providence Hospital and then served as Emergency Room Staff Physician for four years at Mercy Hospital in Port Huron, Michigan. He completed an additional residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the Henry Ford Hospital, where he was appointed as Chief Resident.
Dr. Shumaker is an active member of multiple professional organizations, including the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, Michigan Radiological Society, American Medical Association and the Michigan State Medical Society.
He has served as Chairman of the Michigan Certificate of Need Commission CT Standards Advisory Committee, President of the Michigan Radiological Society and Vice Chairman for Medical Imaging at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital.
Dr. Shumaker is Fellow of the American College of Radiology and Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology.
