A Collaborative Environment
The size of our practice and scope of subspecialists on staff provides a unique and in depth knowledge base. Sharing these resources with the medical community is one of our top priorities.
For decades, we have been involved in medical education through Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners (formerly GRMERC), collaboration with medical equipment developers, and coordination with the healthcare systems we serve. Following are recent highlights of our educational activities.
Michigan State University College of Human Medicine
Advanced Radiology Services physicians are creating the Radiology department from the ground up at the new Grand Rapids campus. The division of radiology and biomedical imaging was created by Dr. Mark DeLano who serves as the director.
Dr. DeLano is expanding the academic teaching and research missions of Advanced Radiology Services. The use of evidence based techniques to improve the delivery of health care is a primary focus of scholarly inquiry that has immediate impact on improved patient care. Investigation of these techniques in the management of common diagnostic problems such as stroke is underway.
Continuing Medical Education
In Kalamazoo, our physicians conduct an annual CME event sponsored by Bronson Methodist Hospital and Advanced Radiology Services. Updates are provided regarding new services, tools, resources and process changes as well as educating physicians about a topic of interest.
