Interventional Radiology

Employing minimally invasive tools, techniques, and real-time imaging to treat and diagnose disease

Interventional Radiology is an independent medical specialty that employs minimally invasive tools and techniques to treat and diagnose disease. As a result, patients benefit from significantly less trauma, recovery time, and cost than conventional surgery. Interventional radiologists have completed a radiology residency program followed by a fellowship in interventional radiology.
Our interventional radiologists use real-time imaging to guide very small instruments through the body to identify and treat diseases, including cancer, blood clot, brain aneurysm, stroke, uterine fibroids, and many others. Procedures can be referred to as Minimally Invasive Image-Guided Procedures (MIIPs) and can be categorized as vascular or non-vascular.
